About Nayland HortSoc

A Horticultural Show has been held in the parish of Nayland with Wissington for much of the time since the late 1800s. Nayland and District Horticultural Society, who now organise the annual show, is quite youthful – having celebrated its 30th year in 2011.

We are a friendly group with an interest in all things gardening, horticulture and wildlife. HortSoc, as we abbreviate ourselves to, has an active committee who continually strive to find ways to improve our social events and fundraising activities held during the year. These include organising regular coach outings, local visits, visiting speakers and an annual garden party. We have organised flower festivals in our parish church, village bulb planting and often contribute to community events.

We are affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society and have 150 members. However, many of our activities are open to non-members including participation in the Spring Show and the Annual Flower Show, which has classes for vegetables, fruit, flowers, flower arranging, photography, art, craft, cookery, as well as family and children’s sections.

If any of this sounds of interest to you please look further into our website to learn more, and do not hesitate to contact us if you require more information.
